Have you ever been “hangry?” You know what I’m talking about. A time when you hadn’t eaten in what seems like forever and you begin being short with others and maybe even say something you didn’t mean? Yeah I’ve been there too. This blog is all about food and our mood from what professionals say to personal stories. Enjoy!

Key #1: 💃🏃‍♀️🤸‍♂️🧘‍♀️🙏🌽🍅🍎🍌🍉 Know what exactly is diet and how can it impact our mood.

I found a really interesting study conducted in Europe. Its titled: “Can Eating Make Us More Creative? A Multisensory Perspective.” They found consuming sweet beverages enhanced creativity and if they had a sourness to them it would be even better! They weren’t sure why that was the case. Additionally unfamiliar branded tea was less impactful than familiar branded tea on their creative flow. They suspected the familiarity brought a sense of comfort and allowed them to be more creative in a relaxed state.

I’d love to get your input on it. Type in the title above in your search browser and download your free version of the study today. Comment below on any insights you came up with ⬇️

Key #2: 💃🏃‍♀️🤸‍♀️🧘‍♀️🙏🌽🍅🌶🍉🍌 Know what science says about diet impacting our mood.

I found a cool study done in Turkey. It’s titled: “Understanding How Gamification Influences Consusmers’ Dietary Preferences.” They conducted two different studies 1 on calorie reveals on menus at fast food restaurants and 1 on price adjustments. They concluded that price differentials had more impact on food choices than calorie reveals. They also found that gamification of food can positively impact obesity and disease risk.

Key #3: 💃🏃‍♀️🤸‍♀️🧘‍♀️🙏🍅🌽🌶🍉🍎🍌🍏 Know what is the global concern of diet and mood imbalances.

I found an impactful study titled: “Nutritional Deficiencies and Maternal Depression: Associations and Interventions In Lower and Middle Income Countries: A Systematic Review of Literature.” They evaluated 1200+ studies and concluded that nutrition impacts depression on nursing and pregnant mothers. They found the lower the fruit intake, the higher the depression. Additionally diets with higher vegetable and protein levels were at less risk of depressive symptoms.

Key #4: 💃🏃‍♀️🤸‍♀️🧘‍♂️🙏🍌🍎🍉🌶🌽🥦 Know what some simple solutions to improving one’s diet to positively impact their mood are.

If time is a factor for you, let me introduce you to online grocery shopping ha! But seriously, follow the My Plate recommendations having half your plate be leafy green vegetables, a quarter of the plate be your protein, a quarter be your grains, and a cup for dairy or your non dairy beverage choice. The plate should be 8 inches in diameter to meet the serving size recommendations. Do this most days of the week and watch your mood. Track it on the daily and let me know how it goes!

A very special shoutout to the following for adding good value to this week’s post: Annie Leib says: “I will tell you when I eat cleanly, meaning clean veggies and fruits, tuna, salmon, not a lot of sauces, nothing creamy, very low complex carb, I feel so much better with much more energy and better sleep! PS lots of water with lemon or cucumber or blueberries in it.”

If you’d like to be featured in all of Move Happy®️social media and weekly blog make sure to add value throughout the week and especially on the Solutions day (usually on Thursdays 😉).

Maybe you see an old battle buddy you were stationed with overseas, or maybe you meet your next wife as she’s a black star and lost her spouse in battle? You never know what could happen at our concerts 💜. The next concert is in May Date TBD. The music theme is Hip-Hop and R&B. Key #5: 💃🏃‍♀️🤸‍♀️🧘‍♀️🙏🍉🍎🌶🌽🫑 Know how Move Happy®️ can empower you to transform your diet and positively impact your mood.

Although Move Happy®️ is not diet focused in its pillars, it is mindset focused (Pillar #1). With that in mind, Move Happy®️ is heavily focused on positively impacting your mindset. If you’d like a consultation to discuss your diet and how we can help you improve your mindset, please email me: Erin@TheMoveHappy.com or DM me on social media and we’ll set up a complimentary 15 minute consultation. If you need more specified dietary advice, I’ll help find you a registered dietician that can support your needs.

So there you have it folks! Food can greatly impact our mood. The choices we make on the daily can compound overtime. Its okay to have an off day every now and then. The important thing to do is to get back on track eating foods that fuel us. Ask yourself what you most want out of your body and its capacity. Then backwards plan from your goals.

I hope that this week’s blog added value to you. It would mean the world to me if you’d share it with someone you care about.

PS: Don’t forget to tell someone you love them today.
