Do you ever wonder why people warm-up and warm-down post exercise? There are many reasons why for your health, feeling better, readiness factor and whatnot.

The following blog is all about warm-downs post exercise specifically. I include real stories, what science tells us, and if you stay to the end a program I’m really proud about.

#1 Men and Women Need To Warm Down After Every Workout⠀
⠀
Here is a great article from the Men’s Journal about it.⠀⠀
⠀
Read it and comment below with something you either learned, or was reinforced ⬇️

#2 Lower your heart rate down before you stretch or lay on your back⠀
⠀
Why?⠀
⠀
There is a lot of blood moving around your body. If you lay on your back too soon to do abs or core, you could get dizzy and pass out.⠀
⠀
Get your heart rate down to a resting or close to resting HR (between 100-120BPM for most people, unless you’re on beta blockers with lowered HR already).⠀

#3 Do some light exercises to lower the HR safely. ⠀
⠀
Check out this article for 15 great tips on it. I essentially love #7.

Which one is your fav?

#4 Get Massages On The Regular

⠀ It’ll feel great and breakdown the pooled blood in the veins that the body doesn’t need pumped anymore. ⠀
⠀
I love Planet Fitness because they have the massage chairs and hydro massage beds there. Real hands on your body is way better but if you can’t afford it, its nice that it is included in a fitness membership for only $22/mo approximately. ⠀
⠀
A few years ago I coached middle school cross country and one of my athlete’s mom’s was a masseuse. I had suffered a pretty bad injury at my day job and was able to use workers comp to get massages. She was SO good but she moved away. 😞 ⠀

Where is your favorite place to get a massage? 💆 💆‍♂️

#5 The Move Happy Facilitator Program© Includes Proper Warm-Downs⠀
⠀
I am super excited & proud to share my 16-week program with you! It is something I actually facilitated to my former patients in a psychiatric hospital.⠀
⠀
We ran the program 4 days a week and each week included a topic like how I share with you every week. All weekly topics are related to happiness from what I researched.⠀
⠀
I created a psychological questionnaire to measure happiness (simple 1-pager) & a fitness questionnaire to measure fitness so you and your participants can track progress throughout.⠀
⠀
My patients improved for the most part in both areas consistently and spread news about the group around the hospital 💜 ⠀
⠀
Each day includes:⠀
⠀
Journaling 📓 (pre-designed questions I created)⠀
Group Discussion of the daily topic (a subtopic of the weekly)⠀
&⠀
Workouts 🏋️‍♀️ With Minimal Equipment ⠀
⠀
I recreated the workouts via video example (demo not full) so you don’t have to be a fitness expert to run the program⠀
⠀
I’m looking for program testers that are willing to give me a testimony to increase the trust factor (honest testimony of course). ⠀
⠀
To the first person to email me a receipt of order, I’m sending you a gift certificate to a 💆 nearby.⠀
⠀

The Move Happy® Podcast has over 200+ listens so far! I release an episode every week (typically on Sundays). Make sure to follow here and you’ll get a notification when the latest episode is uploaded. I interview leaders in positive mindset, community and fitness. They share their strategies with you. I recently interviewed a long-time Disney executive in their hospitality side.

The Move Happy World Tour Experience is on its way to happening soon! It’s a night of music, public speakers, and complete life transformation. The intended audience is those that struggle with depression and their families/friends. You will leave equipped with the skills and community necessary to move towards your own happiness. To donate to help make this event and future events possible around the globe donate any amount here. Please email me that you’ve donated and how much so I can allocate it to the correct bucket for my future accountant’s ease of mind 😂.

On the music 🎶 side, I’m getting ready to perform for a private party back home. All earnings are going towards the rent of the charity event! If you need musical entertainment for an event coming up, please email me subject heading “Music Entertainment Needed.”

So there you have it folks! Warm-downs are necessary for us to help get our bodies back to a somewhat resting state. We need to warm-down to help ease the soreness factor. We should all be getting regular massages, not just because they feel good, but because they actually improve our physical health. Everyone should be following the podcast. Anyone that needs a stellar musical performance for an event coming up should do soon!

PS: Don’t forget to tell someone you love them today!
