On today’s episode I interview, Brent D. Wolfe, PhD, CTRS, FDRT, Professor, Recreational Therapy, Executive Director for the American Therapeutic Recreation Association (ATRA). He’s also a father and LOVES nature. He and I connected because I reached out to ATRA sharing about my podcast and how I want to empower people globally to move towards their own happiness and share the power of Rec Therapy. ATRA forwarded my email to Dr. Wolfe and we recorded the episode. Rec Therapy was HUGE at the psych hospital where I worked where I developed the program Move Happy. It technically would be under the Rec Therapy umbrella (positive psychology journaling, group discussion and workouts with minimal equipment in nature as often as possible) as it is in perfect alignment with ATRA’s mission. I wanted my listeners to hear more about Rec Therapy because it is SO powerful. If you have the freedom to get in nature and explore the sounds, smells and authenticity that is nature, do so often. Please leave a thank you review for Dr. Wolfe and connect with him at Georgia Southern University if you’d like to learn more or attend the school he educates at (his email is: brentwolfe@georgiasouthern.edu).
